Associative

Civic, scientific, and artistic involvement – from professional federations to puppet theatre.

IESF

Since 2024 I have been a member of the "Doctors-Engineers" committee of Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF), the historical public-interest association (founded 1860) representing engineers and researchers in France as an independent, non-partisan federation.

After contributing to a collective note for an intervention at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the committee organised the 2025 Scientists Assembly on the relations between research and the civil, industrial, and political spheres – following the model of the earlier Engineering Students Assembly on hydrogen – bringing PhD holders and candidates from every scientific field together, to formulate recommendations on how to bring science and society closer.

Since the assembly's report, we run restitutions and workshops in varied settings – research labs, public institutions, science-mediation associations, and political parties – to open debate and work towards operationalizing the recommendations. In parallel, we began reflexive scientific studies of the deliberative process itself, presenting first results at the 2nd UNIDELIB international conference (IEP Fontainebleau, UPEC, 2026).

Compagnie Grande

Created in 2021, Compagnie Grande is a puppet-theatre and associated-arts company based in Château-Renard (Loiret, 45).

We pursue research into the visual arts, poetry and derision – expressed through materials, video, set design, props and objects – to create a poetic, multidisciplinary form that tells a story through images and associations of ideas.

The language we develop is nourished by the burlesque situations our characters find themselves in: uncertainty, fragility and human failings are at the heart of this writing.

Ulisse

Ulisse stands for the Local Union of Supportive, Social & Ecological Engineering (see their Facebook page).

As an active member (2019–2023), I coordinated – for one semester – the working group on promoting sustainability in university restaurants. We designed a survey on the potential effectiveness of several changes and engaged management and catering staff to introduce new information posters, reusable food containers, and more. During another semester I co-organised a public debate on the interplay between socio-ecological stakes and political economy.

CDDTP – UTT Sustainability Council

I was elected to the Sustainability, Transitions & Prospective Council (CDDTP) of the University of Technology of Troyes. With other members I helped define the boundaries, external members and operating procedures of this council, newly created in 2021, on which I served until the end of my thesis in 2022.

In particular, we drew up an overall assessment and a pathway for UTT to obtain the SD&RS label by the mid-2020s. I was responsible for the part concerning L2n, my host laboratory, while supporting other areas – having previously followed the materials-engineering course at UTT. I also wrote an introduction to the state of cross-disciplinary nanoscience / life-cycle-assessment research for the L2n direction.

Ch'UTT de vers

During my university years (2013–2018) I was an active member of the Ch'UTT de vers theatre association – four plays as an actor (one as co-writer) and two as director.

All the plays were recorded and are available on the Ch'UTT de vers YouTube channel and its Facebook page.

Broadway UTT

In this ambitious project involving more than 30 people, we set out to stage a musical adapting the famous "1789 : Les Amants de la Bastille" for June 2020, with my role being co-director and actor from September 2019 to March 2020.

The Covid-19 pandemic brought it to a halt, and it was sadly abandoned after several months of rehearsal.

Other associations

As mentioned in the Academic section, I gave talks on two occasions (2016 & 2017) during BarCamps organised by the UNG (UTT Net Group) association – each a chance to share a reflection grounded in the social sciences and humanities.

I was also an active member of SecUTT, to my knowledge the only first-aid student association fully run by students. I am a certified first responder, levels PSE1 (2015) and PSE2 (2016).
